2024 has been a whirlwind—a year filled with exciting client projects, career milestones, and unforgettable travel. I feel incredibly fortunate to make a living doing something I truly love, but I’d be lying if I said this year didn’t come with its challenges. As a business owner, 2024 pushed me to grow in countless ways.
Looking back, it’s amazing to reflect on everything we accomplished as a team, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come. Thank you for being here through it all—your support means the world.
January
We kicked off the year by photographing our final project of 2023 — The Wattson House. Drawing inspiration from DeVol, we curated a collection of copper, ceramic, and wooden accessories to infuse the space with warmth and character. Our team also visited The Liberty Inn, our ongoing historic inn project, to review the progress of this three-year endeavour.
February
It was an exciting start to the year with many new projects beginning, our fabric sourcing efforts were well underway as we curate fresh, high-quality textiles for upcoming projects. We also began planning an exciting renovation of our studio space, aiming to create an environment that fosters even greater creativity and collaboration. To top it off, we were thrilled to share that our Alton House Project was featured on the cover of House & Home — a proud milestone that highlights the hard work and passion of our entire team.
March
No month feels complete without a sourcing trip to Cava Surfaces. Hand-selecting natural stone for two upcoming projects lays the foundation for our hard-finish designs, ensuring each project is rooted in quality and craftsmanship. But this month also marked a personal milestone — a trip I had been planning and dreaming of for years. Africa stole my heart in every way imaginable, from its breathtaking landscapes, beautiful wildlife, vibrant cuisine and the warmth of its people. This unforgettable journey left me inspired and more connected to the beauty and richness of natural materials.
April
April arrived with bluer skies and exciting new beginnings. We proudly launched our first collaboration with Tuck Bedding — the Moss blanket. This year-long labour of love was born from a desire to create the perfect shade of green, a colour I had long envisioned but could never quite find for our projects. Seeing it come to life has been a dream come true. April also marked one of many site visits to Jack Pine Cottage, our Muskoka project beautifully nestled on a peninsula along the shores of Lake Rosseau. With its serene setting and natural beauty, this project promised to be something truly special.

May
May was our busiest month yet — a whirlwind of installations, travel, and unforgettable moments. While the team flawlessly installed our Yoga Studio project, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the home of Jean Stoffer to celebrate the launch of her new furniture line. Jean has been a guiding inspiration since the inception of my studio, and meeting her in person felt like reconnecting with an old friend.
I also joined my good friend Anastasia on her podcast The Interior Collective and spoke all about the power of pivoting, a subject I am very passionate about especially in such a year of growth and change within my company. You can listen to the episode here.
With barely a moment to catch my breath, I boarded a plane to the UK to join Boxwood Avenue for a design retreat in the Cotswolds. This trip was as heartwarming as it was inspiring, introducing me to an extraordinary group of women I now couldn't imagine my life without. The week was spent antiquing, connecting, and exploring the English countryside. Back home, the TLD team brought Project Meadow to life — a beautiful family home anchored by a stunning natural stone kitchen. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.

June
After the whirlwind of May, I embraced the slower pace of early summer at the Lakehouse. Evenings were spent immersed in simple joys — reading on the dock, paddleboarding across calm waters, and unwinding by the fire with a glass of wine in hand. These moments of quiet reflection felt like a much-needed reset, reminding me of the beauty found in stillness.
July
July marked the start of our long-awaited studio renovation. We transformed the once-stark white walls with a warm, inviting cream by Farrow and Ball, accented by a rich green trim that truly made the space feel like a reflection of TLD's aesthetic. With each brushstroke, the studio began to feel more like home.
At the same time, we dove into the design phases for two new projects. This process always begins with thoughtful sourcing — selecting fabrics, curating lighting, and drawing inspiration from timeless antiques. It’s a stage of pure creativity, and I’m always reminded of how much I love bringing new visions to life.
Studio Paint Colours:
August
August was a month of incredible milestones and hands-on work. We completed the installation of Juniper House, a project that has truly come together beautifully, with every detail reflecting the essence of the vision we set out to create. I was also thrilled to see our Project Alton House again featured on a cover, this time of Country Home, a moment of recognition that’s both humbling and exciting.
I also had the privilege of being a guest on BSW Design's CEO podcast, where we chatted about all things interior design. It was such an enjoyable conversation, and I’m excited for you to listen and watch the episode here.
In another exciting development, our studio building gained a new roommate! Farrier, a home furniture brand that specializes in exclusively English antiques, has joined us, and we couldn’t be happier to have them as part of our space. It truly feels like a match made in heaven!
The team and I had the pleasure of visiting the current home of one of our clients to catalogue her incredible vintage collection in preparation for the design of her new home. It was an inspiring experience, as we carefully selected pieces that would seamlessly blend into her new space, bringing character, history, and timeless beauty to her future home. We also wrapped up the installation at Sunstead House, a stunning home where every space feels intentional and filled with warmth.
September
September was a month of exploration and progress. I had the opportunity to visit Cape Cod and New York, gathering fresh inspiration and exploring new ideas for upcoming projects. We also restocked the Moss blanket, which continues to be a favourite, offering the perfect shade of green to complement our designs.
In addition, I had the privilege of presenting to our Crag Hill Cottage project, sharing our ideas and schemes for this family’s future cottage. It was such a fulfilling moment and a true reminder of why I do what I do! Back at the studio, the renovation is progressing beautifully, with each step bringing us closer to a space that truly reflects the TLD aesthetic.
October
October was a month of exciting engagements and recognition. I had the opportunity to present to our first US client. We discussed ideas and plans for their upcoming project and walked them through the curated home room by room with samples, mood boards and renderings to support our vision.
We also celebrated named as one of House & Home's top 100 designers, a recognition that underscores the hard work and passion of our team. The month included a photo shoot at Jack Pine Cottage, showcasing the stunning details of the space. Additionally, I had the honour of speaking at the Haven Workshop in Sonoma, where I connected with fellow designers and creatives, sharing insights and gaining new inspiration.
November
November was a month of significant milestones. We completed the installation of Fern House, a project that brought our vision to life in the most rewarding way.
I also had the pleasure of hosting an event at Holt Renfrew with Tuck Bedding for the launch of our exclusive new collaboration, the Mahogany Blanket. It was a beautiful evening filled with sleepytime mocktails, delicious cake, and, of course, bedding! The event was made even more special by the support of my friends and industry peers, and it was a wonderful moment to celebrate this new collaboration.

Three years in the making, I’m thrilled to share that it will be available for you to visit in February. It’s been an incredible journey bringing this project to life, and I can’t wait for others to experience the result of our hard work and dedication.
