The start of a new year always brings a sense of possibility, and this January has been no exception. The studio has been a hive of activity, from organizing our space after Christmas to diving into exciting projects that set the tone for the months ahead. As we reflect on this first chapter of the year, we’re here to share some behind-the-scenes highlights and the creative momentum driving us forward.

Just like the snow, this month started slowly—and then all at once. We began January savoring the last cozy days of winter break by the fire, catching up on design books. With nearly four feet of snow blanketing the Lakehouse, it was the perfect time to stay put and soak in the peaceful stillness. But before I knew it, we were back in full swing at the studio.
This month has been filled with meetings with inspiring potential clients as we finalize the remaining spots in our 2025 project calendar. As a small firm, we’re intentional about taking on just a few special projects each year, ensuring each home receives the care and creative attention it truly deserves. We couldn’t be more excited about what’s already on board for the year ahead!
We’re also receiving sample orders for several current projects. This year, we’re focusing on decorative details—especially trims for curtains and pillows. These thoughtful touches bring depth and character to a space, and we can’t wait to see them come to life.
On the home front, I’m planning some small updates to our living room to make it more inviting for guests. Despite its charm, this space isn’t naturally where people tend to gather, and I want to change that. True comfort is about thoughtful design—ensuring every detail makes living in a space seamless and enjoyable. I’m adding vintage side tables throughout so a cup of coffee (or wine!) is always within reach.
If you’re looking to elevate comfort in your own home, take note of small inconveniences as you move through each room. Sometimes, it’s as simple as an extra table, a better lamp, or an extension cord to make everyday living just a little easier and more enjoyable.
Here’s to a thoughtful and inspired year ahead!
