When we first drove down the long winding driveway of our clients' new home, we loved the shape of the home and mix of materials - the uniquely curved roofline and the textural mix of siding and cedar shake.

The existing colour palette, however - a mix of orangey/brown wood, orange paint and a green roof, felt at odds with the moody tones and cozy elevated spaces we were designing inside. By painting all of the materials out in a dark finish, we were able to create cohesion amongst the material choices, and really allow the original riverrock chimney and new copper eaves to shine.
