Welcome to the Glenn House, nestled in the heart of Toronto, Ontario. This residence has been the cherished dwelling of our clients for many years, but with the kids grown, it was time to reimagine this space for themselves through a main floor renovation. We dreamt up a classically contemporary design equally fit for dinners with friends or quiet nights in.
The Kitchen
We designed the kitchen with entertaining in mind. Darker oil-rubbed bronze plumbing fixtures juxtapose against the natural white oak island giving this home a refined rustic feel, while the zellige tiled range hood speaks to the hard working nature of this cooking kitchen.
Natural linen draperies allow light in and add softness to the room.
The Living Room + Powder Room
The white oak from the kitchen is carried into the fireplace surround, connecting the spaces through thoughtful materiality. Earthy tones in varying shades of browns, greens and ivories ground the space, while custom and vintage furnishings balance the more contemporary lines of the space.
We colour drenched the powder room in a rich, mossy green and introduced darker wood tones for a woodsy, natural feeling.
The Dining Room
The dining room walls are wrapped in a traditional grasscloth with a modern, linear pattern to create unexpected interest, matching the roman shade fabric to the walls.
Natural materials such as the wool rug in an oversized plaid and a custom round oak dining table add an elevated brawny feel to the space while delicately curved dining chairs feel organic and timeless.
