The Jack Pine Cottage Reveal

We are so excited to share our latest project with you - a beautiful newly built family cottage nestled on a peninsula in Muskoka, Ontario, and surrounded by water on three sides.

Welcome to the Jack Pine Cottage.

The Entry

We envisioned the entryway as a blend of beauty and function, creating a space that makes a statement while standing up to daily wear of everyday cottage life - including wet feet, dripping swim suits, and muddy paw prints. The tumbled stone floor offers both charm and resilience. A tall iron-framed window floods the foyer with light, complemented by a metal railing that feels sculptural. Vintage lighting is a TLD staple - here the vintage bell jar adds the perfect timeless touch, and is one of my favourite details.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is truly the heart of this home, especially in a lakeside retreat. It’s the morning gathering spot where guests brew coffee to enjoy by the dock, and meals are prepared to enjoy at the water's edge. Open shelving invites everyone to feel at home, offering easy access to essentials. The stone backsplash and reclaimed beams draw inspiration from the jack pine trees and rocky cliffs of the Muskoka landscape, while oversized carriage lanterns lend timeless charm. Unlacquered brass fixtures that patina with time and use add to the feeling of a true heritage family cottage, passed from generation to generation.

The Library

We added a bench seat under the window that offers stunning views to the quiet lake outside. White oak shelving showcases a curated collection of books, while closed cabinetry keeps the family’s favourite board games tucked away.

The Laundry Room

A patterned floor tile brings the nostalgic feeling of an older cottage into this newly built home. Soapstone countertops and muddy brown cabinetry feel earthy and moody.

The Powder Room

Swathed in oak, this powder room is a nod to the cottages Tiffany herself grew up visiting with her family, where vintage wood panelling was an aesthetic staple. Vintage sconces add a welcoming glow to the room in the evening.

The Family Bath

Nestled on the second floor, an earth-toned tree top wallpaper to echos the view out the windows and gives the impression of a treehouse retreat.
